I've invested in a 2015 Tacoma Sport. I'm very new to owning a truck and it's been exciting for me so far! I've seen what it can do just in 2WD and am excited to see what it can do more in 4WD (I've been babying it! ). I have realized I am missing a somewhat vital component, and that is the lockers. I know the Off-Road has them, but I opted for the hood scoop and the softer ride. It's possible to get lockers, right? What am I looking at cost wise? (I don't want to hear I should have just gotten the Off-Road package, because I loved mine the most out of the ones I test drove). Just curious what all I need to do, being new to trucks :) thanks all!

Are you actually going to be doing something offroad that needs a locker?

Welcome! Tons of knowledge on this site. Try your best to use the search function, I can almost promise you a question you'll ask has been answered 100 or more times, I've learned the hard way haha.

So what are your plans that make you want a locker?

I don't know enough (girl with limited knowledge here!) about my truck, honestly, to really determine if I NEED them or not. My brother seems to believe I do if I want to "venture out more" haha. Truck has done great with what I have done so far, completely stock! Not like I can do anything immediately anyways. Just putting feelers out there if anyone had an opinion on them. I trust my brother, but figured I'd ask around.

You'd be surprised with how much you can do and places you can go without a locker. I would go have fun in it for a while before dropping that kind of coin. Honestly, it's all about picking the right line when wheeling and just paying attention and taking it slow and steady.

You shouldn't really need them unless you're getting in heavy stuff. But they are about 1000 for each one (front and rear) plus the compressor from ARB from what I've seen. Plus install!

A friend of mine has been taking me wheeling with him in an older Chevy 4x4 with no lockers and as I observe, it really is all about picking the right line. I have to keep my truck as stock as possible , has to get me through school! But when I'm done, I'll reward myself by making it how I want!
