You've known you didn't have the right socket for that since the day you put it on.

So I dropped my truck off at the dealership this morning. They just called me and said that since I supplied the CV axle, I should have also supplied that missing "dust shield". He said with the part and labor it would be $284 out the door. Ha! Eff you buddy.

What u guys think, do I have anything to stand on to go down there and raise hell tonight? I feel like they could have at least said hey you didn't bring us this missing part. Or they could have at least put the one off the old CV axle onto the new.

Edit: I paid them the labor charges to install the new axle while my truck was in pieces.

They should've said something instead of doing something they knew was wrong

Agreed. It didnt come on the axle i bought from O'Reillys. He told me it's not a seal, it's a dust shield. It fits into the seal on the hub. More concerned about the crap going into my wheel bearing

They didn't have to pull the axles out of the diff, the whole front end came out in one piece
