Sunday hunting plays into local politics.....therefore it hangs on.

The issue matters not to me as far more important issues are out and about.....such as the scourge of Leasing for silly deer hunting, the mismanagement of our national forests for timber age class diversity and the use of CRP-type set-asides as political footballs.

IF, I had my druthers then I would keep no hunting on sunday, as the fewer people in the Appalachian woods flushing the ruffed grouse in late season...the better.

As a deacon and a hard core hunter, I can't see any reason not hunt on Sunday. If I hunt in the mornings before church, I already know when I have to leave to make it to church and have a plan for the animal if i shoot one so I can still go to church. Same thing in the evenings. Nothing in the New Testament that prohibits hunting on Sunday, or anything else for the most part.

Now, as far as the game having a day off from hunting pressure, i doubt it makes any difference. Once they change their patterns in the fall, one day of non hunting each week is not going to make them change what they do.
