Well now see you're doing plenty...just negleting to update :) all of the decomposed granite soil out here is like that too...that's why I own a little power washer. I also learned that painting the undercarriage with a gloss chasis paint makes it easier to clean stuff doesn't seem to stick as bad as the flat OE paint.

I've been trying to figure out where to move my Hi Lift too, I have it mounted to the front wall of the bed currently with the high lift brand mounts which is very sturdy...but my new bed cage will need that real estate on the front and sides of the bed - now that I say that I can probably just chop & weld the high lift mounts to the cage tube.

    You only have a 48"?

You can just weld studs onto the rack or get those billet clamps

Yeah, I wanted it to fit on the front wall instead of taking of space on the sides so I bought the 48" ( back in 2007 ) I've had to use it a few times and it works just fine...well - as steady as a sketchy hi lift can be. Yeah good point I should sell my current mounts and just weld a couple studs to the bed cage for it. My CBI rear tire gate has mouning locations for a hi lift too...but thats just more weight out past the back wheels and more weight on the gate so I have always left it locked up nice and safe inside the camper / bed.

That bungie cord is epic !.. another good trick is to pull the pin out that holds the handle on and run a bolt through it. I forget what size it was but I found a bolt that fit so tight it threaded through the hole and that keeps that end from rattling like hell too.

My 48 damn near maxed out on the street, had to do the 60 for wheeling.

Last one I took apart and rattle proofed...now my truck rattles so much I can't hear it. I tie one end of the bungee off on the jack other still has the hook. Made with 5/8" bungee. She's solid!

No that one stayed in Moab with the 'burrito' :) This one's a collaboration...between my two complete shafts and 1 front half. I have 4 donors!

So you're saying you had 4 shafts at the same time?

Pelfreybilt Axe/shovel mount installed today...matches nicely with the red/black scheme! Real solid mounted on there.

New shaft is on as well, 90% of my vibes are gone. Likely came from the carrier bearing, 50k on 35s.

    1. You will feel it on takeoff
    2. Climb under the truck and grab the DL on either side of the carrier and check for play. A good bearing moves about 1/4" total.

My last bearing on my 08 completely separated from the rubber and bushing. It was a common occurrence in DBlifts.

Another reason I'm glad to be rid of that truck
