This might be kind of a strange request but I am looking to trade my truck for a Datsun 510. I'm sure it's a long shot, but I figured I'd try.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
My Uncle had a red 72; awesome car until he rolled it into a ditch. Good luck finding it!

If you do end up selling your truck, would you part with your topper?

Thanks! Yeah it's a lot of fun, specially to slide around the corners. It still has the original carbs which I rebuilt last year. I want to eventually put a 5 speed and triple mikuni carbs on it.. but so many other projects going on.

My 71 had SU's and loved them. Never had an issue once tuned correctly. Mikunis are nice but too much imo.

GL with the search for a 510. Hopefully in a year, I will be in a market for a 2nd gen once wife's car is paid off.

Sorry OP, didn't mean to hijack your thread.

Yes, the SU's are great. I know them pretty well after tuning and rebuilding them. Only issue is the throttle shafts are worn so you get some extra unmetered air at certain throttle positions (throttle shafts aren't part of the rebuild kit). May send them to ZTherapy, they have an improved throttle shaft design. Hm.. thought the Mikunis would get a bit more power than the two SU's. But this is more a topic for the zcar forums lol. Thanks for the input.

So you mean that you're looking for one of these?

Awesome car as first cars go. Unfortunately I sold her back in 1980 when she started burning through head gaskets...
