Hey man. Been checking out some of the builds that I really like and seeing what kind of gears they are running. I am regearing very soon as well as throwing a rear ARB locker in and I wanted to get some insight on your 4.88's. I'm having a little bit of a hard time deciding whether to go 4.56 or 4.88. I've asked a few others and have got some great feedback but thought it would be beneficial to get even more input. My scenario is I have 33's right now and plan on moving up to 35's once these tires wear out. I have bumpers, sliders, bedrack that are on all the time and an RTT and camping gear when I go on trips. I try to wheel maybe a 5 to 6 times a year. If I'm lucky a couple more times. Don't drive my truck for a DD to work, just around town when I'm home but I do like to take lengthy long mileage trips when I go camping. Sorry for rambling haha. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks man.

    Auto + 35's = 4.88
    Manual +35's = 4.56

At least that's the general consensus .

Hey thanks Craig. I appreciate the extra input. After doing a lot of research and combing through a bunch of threads and peoples builds I've come to the same conclusion. I'm beginning to feel a lot more comfortable about going 4.88's. I think that because I drive around mostly in my city with the truck and mostly only go on highway close by to pick up metal for projects or go out of town on trips that I'll be alright as far as MPG. I mean it's a truck it's not gonna get great MPG anyways so I'll suck it up haha.

    Bahahahaha

    What's going on in here?!

Go 4.88s you won't be disappointed unless you regularly do over 75mph

Aaron, do you still like your Zenith OB2 air compressor? Any issues with the mounting location, dust, etc? I'm thinking of acquiring the same compressor and wanted your opinoin. Thanks.

The compressor works great, real fast. The mounting location has been fine through mud, water and sand. I just make sure to fill my tank prior to getting into the real nasty stuff and turn the compressor off. I ran my lockers for ~4 days constantly on and off in Moab without having the compressor kick on once.

Although If I were to do it again I'd just go with a ARB dual. Plumbing a non-arb compressor for air lockers was a pain.
(npt to aussie fittings, regulator etc)
