Yeah, I'm not sure why they're busted so prematurely (probably 10K too early) but it's a moot point now.

Front tire and forks will be done 7/16.

Also filled up for the first time today. I was at about half a tank and it cost me like $4.90 to fill up :) A little better than the Tacoma...

    Rim tapes a bust

Spent an entire roll trying to do one side of the rear wheel and couldn't get it to the point that I would be happy with it. The adhesive does not seem durable anyway, so I guess I'll just roll with all black wheels

My excuse for buying one is that my battery will have been sitting in a storage unit for 4 months not hooked up to the bike, but not charging either. Don't want to get home and not be able to ride because of a dead battery haha ;)
How many miles are on those tires now?

Shifting is getting smoother. I was dumping the clutch a little too fast after shifting instead of easing it out and accelerating so it was a little jerky.

Probably will go out riding tomorrow and ride to the firehouse tomorrow night as well.

Kriega R20 backpack ordered. The SCS gloves are out of stock so will probably buy once they come back in. My EVS gloves have a tear in between the thumb and index finger and the velcro closure is getting crappy.

Gloves for anything have always been weird for me since I have a large and wide palm, but my fingers are on the shorter side so I usually have space at the fingertips. My EVS ones aren't bad if I push them down my hands but I don't think I want to go down with gloves that already have a tear in them...

Also Revzilla ships for free over $39 if you didn't know, so you could try out some of the gloves they have. Just pay attention to the different brands' sizing charts and reviews since they have different sizing fitments.

Kriega R20 riding backpack came in today. Seems very high quality...it's not as big as I imagined, but it will work. The straps are pretty rigid and the back has a nice curvature to it.

My rear wasn't really noticeably squirrelly but that was probably because I was riding even more like a bitch than I usually do. :anonymous:

Loving my Kriega backpack. The curved rigid straps and retention system is really nice on the bike. The main pocket isn't that big but it stretches and fits stuff well.

Also ordered a cargo net for the rear seat cowl for extra storage options when I ride my bike to the firehouse and have more stuff than can fit in the backpack.

I just wear an old L.L. Bean backpack from my elementary school days. Its holding up great but moves around a lot. Also, if i forget to tighten the straps after taking stuff out of it, the wind will catch it and jerk on my shoulders

I was using an older Nike backpack I had and it worked fine but the Kriega has really nice straps and other features like aligning dots on the straps and high quality zippers.

Im gonna warn you right now......Get some real F'n BOOTS and serious ARMOUR! I have almost been killed 3 times in 32 years of riding. All the times i had tons of gear on and substandard riding boot\shoes!!! Don't play around with your body you'll be sorry like i am. I cannot run at all or do any sports other than low impact like bicycles. I used to race i still try to race at the track! I have 2 bikes left and i had 6. Lost 3 to serious crashes by other idiots almost killing me. My riding skills are damn good and i still hold a novice race license on 3 types of motorcycles. Last time so asshat illegally turned in front of me from a left turning lane across 3 lanes of traffic to a right hand street parking lot. I T-bonned him at 45mph! I stuck my leg out which saved my life...It bent me over the handle bars and i flew through the window into back seat of his minivan...He was still driving when i was screaming what the F''''' are you doing??? Then the bastard pulls over and i pull myself out of the side of the van and he comes around and starts yelling i better have insurance and pushing on me. I flipped out and chocked that piece of shit till his eyes rolled over dead white. It took 4 police officers and 3 emts to get me off i WAS SO PUMPED UP ON ADRENALINE I ALMOST KILLED HIM. Almost went to jail for assault and attempted murder.

Now for the aftermath. I sued him he had 50k of coverage and i had 25k of state minimum under-insurance so a total of 75K! I had witnesses and i won the case.........I got 20K total out of it! No lost wages or pain or suffering. We tried sue for his property his house any money. He had nothing! Lawyers say they can get you money BS if they have no money you aint getting shit!
My first surgey 2 plates and 9 screws......lost 19k in wages no work for 5 months. broken heel and 3 busted toes! Couldn't lift my arms for a month couldny wipe my own ,,,,, have to sit to shower!

*8 months later and 3 screws break and crack my subtalor and my heel breaks off again.
Now hardware removal and 4 BIG SCREWS and bone marrow harvested from the knee bone at the crown and put into the subtalor and talus bone with a big screw to make a bone fusion. My heel feels so much better but i cannot rotate the foot at all it only goes up and down it is fubar for life!!

Thanks for the advice. I'm slowly building up my armor collection. I feel fairly comfortable with the gear I have now but I'm still researching boots and better pants. I've tentatively put the Rev-It Vapor pants and Dainese RS boots in my future plans since they have great reviews but I am constantly looking at more reviews for other stuff.

Going to be getting Scorpion SGS gloves once they come back in stock.

I'm definitely very conscious of how quickly things can go wrong, especially since I'm going into a career where I need to be fully physical. But. Life is short and I want to (in a smart manner) enjoy doing things that I find fun. I did not get a motorcycle to go fast and I certainly didn't get it to do dumb shit like wheelies and other reckless activities. I will have to be as smart and aware as possible but sometimes things still go wrong.

For a backpack I just use a hiking bag I bought a couple years ago at Wal Mart for like $20. Has straps to go around my stomach, so it's always tight on my back. Has a bladder built in and is big enough to carry all my GoPro and DSLR gear plus a little more.
