    Whatever aerodynamics you may gain with a shell... you loose the equal MPG's by adding the weight of the shell :rimshot:

    I like the use of these cases a lot. The "pluck foam" is nice when everything is nice and new, but once everything is caked and wet...

    yes, I have done the mods
    you can give the pluck foam several good spray coats of plasti-dip and they harden up some and become a little more resistant to water. Personally, I never saw the point of leaving the foam in at all for truck gear - do recovery straps, jumper cables and snatch blocks really need to be protected by foam? Just takes up more space.

    For sure, me too. Always kept sliding down by packing it tight and judiciously using velcro sticky ties for small objects.

    Alright, cool. yeah that's about right. What's the approximate lead time on a double cab rack? With powder coated surrounds only. I may need to make a trip down there in the next month or two so that would be a good chance for me to save a few bucks :D
