Long story. Drove 3 hrs to meet them, lasted about 10 min before my wife ended up getting bit breaking up a fight between our Tango and another dog. Complete lack of respect. (You have to know Tango to understand this). So then we drove another 3 hours home.

Neat thing was catching Denver area fireworks display coming up Santa Fe from the south. Crazy how many fireworks there were.

I'm sure you know this..... but antibiotics.

I had the same thing happen years ago and my thumb swelled up huge before I got antibiotics. Dog saliva = no good in the blood stream.
    Best to you and Petra

Looking for a spot to hike that's not too far from us (Thornton) as I will have a 2yo and 8yo in tow...
We've done Eldorado, Red Rocks, Lair O' Bear, Staunton.

Nice! We are gonna do that next year. We came back into Denver right around 9pm and could see tons of fireworks across the front range. Out goal is to find a spot for next year now. And yea P is fine. Bruised and swollen.
Actually... I did not know this. Thank you for bringing it up and we will get on that.

Go hike the trail along the Platte. You can access it many places. 120th ave. right after it passes over Riverdale Rd. while going East or below on Riverdale Rd. Easy hike, the river is flowing well, and not very far at all. You might even find an arrowhead.

We have a sweet spot down here in motor city at a car wash. It's at a perfect high point. We can see north to the Air Force Academy, east all the way out to Falcon, and south to Fountain. Lots of fireworks for sure.

Hope everyone had a great 4th of July!

Anyone get stuck in that INSANE traffic headed eastbound on 285 yesterday? The fiancee and I left Crested Butte around 10:45am and all was great till just west of Fairplay. Traffic was backed up/stopped all through town and at every stop light along the route. 6+ hour drive from Mt. Crested Butte to Lakewood. Absolutely horrible.

Yesterday, Memorial Day and Labor Day are probably the worst days to be driving back from the mountains.
