Lost ball joints and resulted in pulling inner CV joint apart and jammed it into the sand. Tried to clean the tripod bearing but still feels gritty. I don't see it for sale separate. Are they available separate or must I replace the whole assembly?

Out in the sticks here so autozone or O'Rileys is about my only option it seems or Ebay. New to the area here as well so not privy to where the good boneyards are yet either.

Toyota only offers the tripod joint as a set with the inner joint tulip and it costs >$300, just slightly less than the whole drive shaft.

Maybe you can work the dirt out with more cleaning.

Look in the for sale section of the forum. Try to find a used OEM axle.

Yikes, well if you don't plan on wheeling with it then you're fine. I would try to find a used OEM one in the classifieds though, just as a spare.

I have tho old one as they didn't ask for a core. I will clean it up grease and install the new boot for a spare. Just need to get it going for now then deal with it before my mudding season. I need to go where the critters go and I am too fat and lazy to walk a bunch.:D

Axle came in today. Got her all buttoned up and took other truck back. Should of packed my soap with me as it rained on me half way back through my walk. It is all back together so am a happy camper. Thanks all for thew help.
