I'm deciding. It depends if I go 255/85/16 or 285/75/16. If I go 285 I would like to do it then if possible.

 

go 285. that's what mine are. I did a pretty small amount of trimming besides the CMC

 

I'm more concerned about MPGs than the amount of trimming.

Yeah.. I'm trying to keep the amount of miles I can drive on a tank to a maximum. If I had a bigger tank I wouldn't really give a crap but with a comfortable range of 350 right now I don't really want to go a ton lower (I understand it will drop with either of these sizes). I may invest in a bigger thank in the future. I just hate stopping. If I had a range of 500 miles that would be quite nice.

Anyway back on topic, do you think 18 or 19 on the highway at 70 mph is do-able with 285s? That's about what I get right now but I'm generally closer to 80. But now that I have this stupid "Right Track" thing in from Liberty mutual (for insurance discounts) I can't drive over 80 or brake hard or basically drive like a maniac anymore so I have to settle with driving slower anyways.

 

get a 5 gallon gas can

at 70-75 you'll probably average somewhere around that. I don't keep up with my mpg, I probably should one time just to see what I get, but the problem is, I only live 7 miles from work. the weekend is when I burn the most gas.

 

A gas can would be good for off road trips but on a drive from AZ to TN it still requires me to stop to put the gas in hahaha I just need to buck up and deal with it.

I'm trying to keep it practical. It's not just MPGs, its also power. With more weight to push you're killing power as well.

 

I get 200 miles to a tank with my tsls and beadlocks. That's even running 65mph
