Recently had the warrenty undercoat done on my 08 Tacoma. Had upper control arm replaced as well as the ball joint squeak was driving me bananas. IMG_3471_zpstznd0ced_dff25181a81daf2ca9536348d162e6628b3ad1f1.jpg

So less than 500km, 95% highway driving, 5% forest service road this is what I found.

I am curious what damage could have been done besides just the CV boot being torn. Could all that grease that splattered affect the brakes? I can only assume that debris got into the boot area as I was on a logging road to paragliding launch site. (Probably only 40km)

In your experiences how do dealerships handle their mistakes in terms of compensation and will they let me go to another mechanic to get it fixed? I'm hoping for whole new CV assembly, complete clean of the front end, maybe something else to curb my rage.

They had the truck for 5 weeks while I was working in the Middle East, I'm assuming there was more than one guy working on things and someone didn't finish their part of the project. Had wheel bearings, the other stabilizer link, brakes all redone, over 2800 in parts labor, and now I'm not able to get where I need to go....
