Moog k200773 LCA bushing shifting, BANG/Clunk

The moog front (smaller) lca bushings are not working out for me..
I finally figured out my Pop,Clunk,Bang,Knock in the front end. The diameter of the Moog bushing sleeve is too small and is "breaking loose" from the LCA..

Moog stuff is shit these days. No better than random eBay crap

Only reason I run moog balljoints is because the parts place here lifetime warranties them. So I replace them every couple years for free.

 

Not really free if you have to change them every couple years. That's still your labor and it's kind of a pita job.

 

I can swap lowers in 15 mins a side. And I dont charge myself

 

I've never had a problem with moog parts until these LCA bushings.

 

What really sucks is, although moog dropped the ball on this, it's really Toyotas' fault. I'm guessing most of you are in the same predicament I was - needed an alignment but couldn't get one because Toyota doesn't lube the bushings and alignment hardware from the factory, it rusts solid, and we're stuck cutting it all out and replacing it. My bushings weren't bad themselves. There should be a sticky warning new owners to disassemble and lubricate as soon as possible. Much like the hub assemblies NJ636 gets to make us thanks to Toyota, the threads I've read by people replacing are finding the originals to have had very little lube in them. Talk about being f'ed with no lube.

 

And of course the north east owners get to enjoy these type of things sooner because of our glorious winters.

I don't mind doing the work, I just dislike having to do it again due to a faulty part.

I am still undecided on what bushings I am going with this time around

 

After a weekend at URE still no clunk from the stock bushing. Also note the SPC bolts have plastic sleeves with them (no rust) and the washers are holding up well.

I would like to invite everyone that has had this issue to take measurements of your

$16 K200773 Suspension Control Arm Bushing for Toyota Tacoma

K200773 Front Lower Forward Control arm bushings. Post them here and make RockAuto aware of this safety issue. They have so far unsatisfactorily addressed this issue and are claiming that this is not a wide spread issue. I will re-post my measurements for science.

I'll get the measurements this weekend when I replace the bushings.

 

swapped out the Moog LCA bushings this past weekend. I installed Mevotech MS86410 ($31.79 ea) & MS86409 ($30.79 ea) poly bushings. Only have about 20 miles on them so far but no clunk. I will get the go pro back under there if I hear anything.
