Alright so I'm new to the car audio thing, right now the 2015 has a pretty solid system but I like my bass so I want to get an upgrade. All you who have a double cab know that there isnt much space for a box unless you get a custom one put behind the seat. So I was considering just upgrading the speakers and getting some that are a little bassy, which would be a lot cheaper then I could install a sub somewhere down the road, but I really want a sub. I got it priced out today, 2200 for a custom box with an amp and 10" sub with installation (kind of lame but good enough for me), or 1100 for one of those thin boxes and an amp and sub with installation. Then theres the speakers, where it would only be around 400 if I just did the rear ones. But anyway anyone who has upgraded their system in their double cab should toss me some suggestions, cause I really dont know what to do.

I am in a similar situation. I have a 2013 DC and just can't take the factory sound anymore (non-JBL). Originally jumped in thinking for about $1K I could replace the speakers with some JL C2 650 up front and some 650x in the rear, add a 5 channel amp and a 10" sub (possible 2). Leave the factory deck as it looks nice and has all the features I need/want (Touchscreen, BT, Integrated backup camera, steering wheel controls, etc...). I also need to go somewhat custom on the sub enclosure as I need to retain the child safety "latch" system.

The more I research, the more I am finding my initial $1000 budget was about half what I'm going to need. I have seen a ton of thread on upgraded systems, but not much on pricing. I would love to see the associated cost for all these upgrades?

Icon all around, sick nicks fab front bumper..bfg a/t 275 80 17 on konig counter steer x,all pro rear bumper,5k hid,3k fog lights, rockford fosgate sound system on stock stereo, tints
Damm that sounds like a hole lot of dough..a nice component set up front and a amp should give you a lot better sound and add a little bass, as for rear speakers you don't have to add.unless you drive from the back seat you'll probly never hear them.do you have the specs of the equipment they are trying to sale you?

gosh.. where do I start, 18x9’s on 275-65 ridge grapplers. Bilsteins, clazzio leather, audio consists of stereo integrity, fosgate power amps, sundown audio, hybrid audio. Plus more...
I have a set of focal components up front and one 10 inch sub in the back and it's almost perfect. It will be perfect when I put two sets of focals up front

Went with the following. Just waiting for install next week.

Set of Alpine SPR-60C up front, custom ported box behind the passenger-side rear seat with SWR-T10 shallow mount sub. Hertz HDP5 sub driving everything. I believe the plan is to install amp under passenger front seat.

Keeping OEM head unit and factory rear speakers...
