Got a 2015 TRD sport model and noticed that the fog lights can only be activated when low beam headlights are on. Does anyone know how to override this so I can be able to use the fogs in any setting?

There are a lot of threads about how to get them to come on anytime just search "fog light anytime" however it requires some modding and there is no way to override it in any type of programming

so basically the only option is to have them on all the time... even when it's in day time setting?

There is a reason they are set up like that. You do not drive with high beams in the fog and these are fog lights. In some states it is illegal to drive with them on when there is no fog or when other vehicles are approaching.

The solution to your problem is addressed simply in the link in my sig. Takes about 5min total and will make it so your fogs remain in when you activate your brights. No other changes are made to behavior otherwise.

so I checked it out and was super stoked until you said the high and low beams will both be on... unfortunately thats not what Im going for since I have high beam halogens and low beam HIDs the reason is because I like my HIDs for all around driving but switch to halogens if Im going long distances on highways and dont want fuckers flashing me every 5 minutes because they think I have my brights on. that being said I want to be able to use my fogs so i can still maximize my visibility. anyway, hopefully someone has a solution...

Go here. This is the best way IMHO.

Of course, anyone considering a mod should know how it applies to local laws. Where I am, it's not illegal to run fog lights and many people run them anytime they have their low beams on. Aside from helping in rain and snow, fog lights generally throw a low wide light pattern. This helps with visibility along the side of the road. To me, it only makes sense to include this low wide lighting with high beams, as it helps fill the covered area going from low to high beams. I've always noticed how much better you can see, when both low and high are on at the same time. This can be seen on many vehicles, while holding the high beam flash feature.

Anyone driving is no more at fault, for leaving their brights on, by having fog lights on at the same time. Fog lights don't blind people, due to the low wide pattern.
