i was looking at those too. i think right now i'm just off of getting an intake. i don't NEED it and i probably do NEED side steps

That's what I have along with the TRD CAI. Just took my intake off as one of the couplers ripped. Noticed an immediate difference in throttle response, the CAI is way better. I'll get new one's and put it back one as soon as I'm back from vacation. It's low on my to do list.

 

good to know! i don't expect a ton out of an intake, mostly just noise hehe. all of my friends with exotics are like "blower! when are you getting the blower!!" i never find it to be under powered, and it's a truck not a race car

 

After a little digging I chose to skip doing the cai, mainly like rob said the CEL stuff. Shit, I already get 23-26 mpg out of it so I'm good with that, especially coming from a Chevy Colorado 4 banger that was 15-17mpg..don't miss that pig.

 

Yeah like I said it's the throttle response that improves with the intake more than anything else. The couplers that ripped on mine are cheap but it's very low on the priority list so it won't be done until after my vacation.

 

My intake was on for the last few years, the only reason I got the CEL is because of the ripped couplers

 

True but for a 4 banger I'm not sure it will really matter as much. I plan to get the AFE dry drop in filter.

 

Runner up is that dummy Jason Pierre-Paul. When you get paid the $$ he does and risk your hands like he did..goodness

 

I think having VVT makes the drop in mods less useful than they use to be for older vehicles.

Mornin' all. Just got back from camping last night, back to work this morning. I made a stupid mistake, or oversight, so I didn't have any power in the trailer all weekend... Good thing I brought the propane lantern!

Did you leave the battery on the shelf in the garage, hooked up to the charger?

 

Nope, not that bad. The truck is supposed to charge the battery while I drive however, Ford doesn't plug in the relay or fuse to the 7 pin harness from the factory since not everyone who buys the tow package will actually use it. They give them to you in a little baggy along with the wires to connect a brake controller. So I thought during my 5 hour drive that the trailer would be charging up, nope. I got there, things worked for about an hour off the residual charge from the last outing and that was about it.

That sucks, though. Did you have to buy an emergency cooler to keep the beer cold?

 

It's actually not a bad idea, otherwise you'd have a constant hot that would just corrode. I'll pull the fuse and relay out for the winter anyways.

Nope, I was planning on using a cooler anyways. The fridge in the camper supposedly will run on A/C, D/C or LP. It runs fine on A/C, D/C just wastes the battery so I never use it and I can't get it to run cold on LP. The site we were on had no hook ups so I had the big cooler for the food and beer.
