    Hey ya'll,

New to the forum and new to my '15 Black Taco TRD Sport. Loving it already but as the new car smell decreases I am getting the itch to change some stuff.

I have been reading through the forums and huge thanks to toku58s thread for finding out what options are out there. I just had a few questions for ya'll to make sure that I am going down the right path before I pull the trigger.

Any help would be appreciated, and I know that this probably has been beaten like a dead stampede of horses, but I can't seem to find these answers anywhere.

    Thoughts:

    Toytech Ultimate Lift:

    http://toyteclifts.3dcartstores.com/Toytec-Ultimate-Lift-Kit-05-Tacoma_p_1062.html

    - Wanting to model after the TRD Pro with a 2" lift in the front with a taco lean spacer on the driver side.
    - Will mostly be mall cruising, camping, skiing, and very slight wheeling
    - 4x4 so will need the diff drop
    - Keeping stock tires on until it goes bald and replace with larger tires
    - Will add bull bar and bed cover down the road.

    Questions:
    1. Warranty

    - I understand the law that was passed that does not allow the dealership or company to refuse warranty unless they can prove the mod caused it, but sometimes they do make it difficult.

If I keep it close to the TRD Pro Lift specs during the warranty do I actually decrease chances of shit down the road if things go wrong?

    2. Level

With a bull bar and a bed cover will I have to adjust later on to keep level with the added weight?

    3. Missing

With the above lift, am I missing something obvious?

Thanks for all the help guys and gals and I look forward to creeping this forum and seeing ya'll out there.

    Ves

dont even bother with that lift.

Its a glorified set of 5100's which retail for ~320 bucks for all 4 corners... springs can be had for another 170. do the math.. you are getting bent over.

If you want something like the pro (actually better IMO) go with the Bilstine 6112's in the front. Those can be had for ~ 650ish and come with springs and 5 different levels of adjustment. Then grab some 5100's for the rear and an AAL... you will be 300+ bucks less and have a better setup than the toytec kit linked to above.

    OR

spend 300 bucks more than that kit above and go icon stage 1.... they are fully rebuildable, fully adjustable ture coilovers.

4x4 will not need the diff drop. if anything you will need the ECGS front diff bushing, but a diff drop is not needed and could actually cause more issues than it fixes. Put the lift on and if you have front diff vibrations then you can grab the ECGS bushing (60 dollar part)

if you dont mind procomp lifts, they do offer their lifts (qualifying ones) with the lift shield warranty

Thanks for the input, looking through the item list on the Toytec I can see now how it is just a Billi set up. I had a look at the icon 1 and assume that I would need an AAL if I wanted to lift to about 2.5"? They are showing the leaf as an additional addon.

    Fredfifty

I will have a look over the Pro Comp as well, checking on the Shield they have that would be pretty sweet as well.

Thank you both for answering so quickly, will do some research but most likely will have some additional questions.

    Best,

    V

Yeah that kit is a rob job. I agree with nd4's suggestions. Another option would be the bilstein 5100/OME bundled kit sold by headstrongoffroad.com. In your case Id go with 884 or 885 coils, no diff drop. That is a great kit and runs about $600...that's what I have and I'm very pleased with it.

What i would do OP if you dont want to break the bank.

5100's in all 4 corners. User the stock coils up front and set the 5100's at 1.75in setting. Get a 1.5in progressive (softer ride less load handling) , or 2 inch single AAL in the rear (stiffer ride more load handling) . and call it good. If you find that the front is too stiff (due to preloaded stock coils) you can swap them out with different coils from OME.

This will provide a quality lift that wont break the bank (320ish for 5100's and 75-150 for w/e AAL you choose). and is essentially the same as that toytec kit for 1/3rd the price.

    Great,

Funny, I had looked at the 5100's but just for a level. I will definitely look into those plus the AAL to get that lift then put some shoes on her.

Thanks hopefully will update with pics soon.

Exactly what everyone else said. I have the 5100's all around but just to level it at 1.75 on my 2015 TRD Sport DCLB. But I would stay away from Pro Comp. I think there stuff is garbage, and yes I have had dealing with it. I am thinking for money as I am going to be a Mall Krawler as well. The new 6112's is the way to go.
