Well Ive already purchased Wheelers 3leaf progressive AAL, but I do carry weight in my bed quite frequently. When I said flat I meant to say already sagging lol. Considering selling the AAL and then just buying these.

Gotcha. What weights are you carrying? Would suck to sell the AAL and then have blown out rear leafs left to use the bags with.

Thus far I plan to leave my AAL in and add bags to restore proper rake when loaded.

Usually around 300-600lbs on the weekends. Between bags of soil or yard equipment. I just hate how my rear springs ride... maybe Ill remove my overload, install the AAL and stick the airbags on.

Interesting. That's my load range also with occasional bouts with 800 lbs, kept my overload leaf in with the AAL installed. Ride is fine if not a little ass low for comfort but I've never hit the OEM bump stops.

The Daystar Cradles bolt to the lower bracket and the bag simply floats. The upper part of the bag is held on by a big nut that goes around the air fitting port. As to having to air down the bags when putting the vehicle on a lift or you will damage the bags, this is listed in the instructions, but while talking with the Firestone Tec today he said that the real issue is a liability one, picking the vehicle up on a lift with air in the bags won't hurt the bags...Firestone says to air down the bags to prevent damage, but he said the actual reason is they want the bags empty in case someone is taking apart suspension parts and could get hurt if things got "blown apart" by the pressure in the bags. His statement was that if you are not unbolting springs or shocks and such that it was a non issue if air was in the bags. Rotating tires, doing brakes etc, don't worry about it. If you are changing shocks or shackles and the like you need to deflate the bags....pretty common sense stuff, but with all the sue happy folks out there, Firestone is covering their arse. Also, if you want the Cradles, JEGGS had them for under $70 with free shipping. Part #KU0914BK works with these air bags. The main reason for the Cradles is to allow you to use the airbags and not loose articulation. Without the cradles you have less droop / limited down travel due to the bags. With the Cradles you have full articulation. This was another thing I discussed with the Firestone tec. Firestones stance is do not use the Cradles, the Tecs comments were that he is not aware of any failure issues due to using the cradles, but that Firestone wants the bags connected at both ends for "liability reasons". On a non related note, he told me that though the bags are rated at 100psi working pressure that the actual burst strength is in excess of 800psi so in most cases you will blow an air line long before you will blow up a bag.

Looks like you got "double" heat shields also....got mine bolted on before I realized there were 2 stuck together....the dowel pin on the bag still seats in the retaining hole so I left it doubled up. My Cradles just came in today so it will all go on this Sunday. Seems some things don't change...when I put these on my Tundra the bolt head stuck up higher than the cradle if you put a washer on it....still that way many years later with the new Cradles so I ground down the bolt head until it was below the dish in the Cradle.....bolt simply holds the Cradle to the bracket so grinding a little off the head doesn't seem to hurt things (been that way on my Tundra for quite a few years)...so now the bag hits the cradle rather than the bolt head...didn't want to leave the washer out and didn't have any real thin washers that would work. (Mine shipped with the valve mounting kit also...pretty slick idea for a simple plastic part).

I'm a believer. Just had them installed today and enjoyed the ride home - definitely seemed smoother. Interestingly, I had purchased the union tee but it wasn't delivered with the bags. I ordered from SDTruckSprings.com

Got mine installed this afternoon. Just ran the truck up and down my street as it was late. Looks like about 12psi puts her even height all around at the wheel wells which makes her slightly tail high almost like a stock Taco would sit.

Yep i got 2 heat shields lol, realized that when i went to put them on. Also i got another question i put on my cradles and i got and the bolt sticks up a little past the base and the airbag sits on the bolt instead of the cradle. The bolt sticks about 1/4" high so its not to bad? Is that ok or should you fix it somehow?

Discount code still works just ordered bags and cradles I have been wanting to do this for awhile now. Hate the saggy ass between the ARE MX topper, sliders and when loaded with gear in the back. Thank you @moe2o4!

I had the same issue with the new ones and the ones on my Tundra. As the bolt is simply holding the cradle on I took the head down a bit with my bench belt sander. They clear if you eliminate the washer (but I wanted to retain the washer), or may work if you could find a real thin washer to use. I ground down the bolts on my Tundra and they have been OK for quite a few years so went that route with the set for the Taco. Don't know that the bolt being raised would hurt anything as it is metal on metal, but might be noisier. Ended up removing about 1/4 of the thickness from the bolt head.
