After a lifelong string of GM cars, SUVs and trucks, I gave up on US based vehicles and I bought my Tacoma new in 2007, (built in Cali.), only the second new vehicle in my life, I tow a travel trailer with it and have gotten some good info off the forum without joining so today I thought I join, add a trip report and ask a few questions.

My Tacoma was my 2nd new vehicle as well. My first was a 1980 Camaro (tells you how old I am). I usually always look for vehicles that are 1-2 years old and still under factory warranty. My motto was "let the first guy take the deprecation hit". Unfortunately (or fortunately I guess), I couldn't find a used 2012-2014 Tacoma at a decent price. Most were even priced more than I paid for my 2015. I have not given up on US made vehicles, just think the Tacoma is the better option right now. I continually route for the good ole USA and hope they soon build world class automobiles again!
