so I don't really know shit about car sound systems, but I really cant take the factory speakers anymore and im ready for an upgrade. Im just really struggling finding speakers as far as what fits right and has good sound. if you guys could tell me what you have had luck with, im planning on using the adaptors from *********.
    id like to know what
    6x9" for the front doors
    6.5" for the rear doors
    tweeters
    sub
    amp
    and head unit
I want to do the whole thing up right, I already gutted the whole back seats out and fitted in plywood for the dog, so im thinking I can just build a sub box under that.
any info would be great, ive looked all through the forums but no one really says what their using specifically

Just modified my 2015 system today. Speakers were FOCAL IS 690TOY ($299), this is an integration kit designed to fit the factory holes. These are connected to a JL Audio XD200/2v2 amplifier ($329). I am also using a AudioControl LC2i as a line converter from the factory speaker output, and hushmats in the doors. The LC2i has both full range and subwoofer outputs. The amps are under the passenger seat with no modifications. The next step is to add a Pioneer TS-WH500A 150 watt powered sub under the driver seat. Even without the sub the doors produce quite a bit of base, with clean mids and crisp highs. Running the amp wire was simple, no drilling through the firewall. Start to finish the install took about 3 hours. Everything is available from Crutchfield (although they say the speakers don't fit) and Sonic Electornix. FYI I emailed Focal to make sure they fit all gen 2 tacomas.
