Thanks buddy! Nope, still using the same one. Although that D750 is still tempting me to go buy it for it's low light abilities. I'd rather shoot in the middle of the night than daytime.

Of all time's, my remote's batteries decided to die so I had to mash the shutter button on all of these and was limited to 30 second shots. lol Adapt and overcome.

My idea of reducing gear :p

I did sell a 600mm and 300mm, that counts right?

That's just not nice dangling new gear like that in front of us. Not jealous cause that's the wrong color for me. :D

Been on B&H and Adorama all day looking for my next lens or camera body. :anonymous:

That is one sweet lens though. Congrats!

Thinking about a macro or or maybe a 24-70 2.8

It would be nice to have the rest of the trinity. I already have the 70-200 2.8 and any new glass will be for full frame.

I'm kind of debating if I want a D800 or the D750. The 800 has outstanding DR but the 750 seems to be the new low light king.

Yeah that's a though one? So you have the 14-24 as well? I've always wanted to shoot that glass! Are you going to buy new? I've seen some smoking deals on second hand D800s or the refubs are a pretty good deal!

No, I only have the 70-200 now. Honestly, I don't know if I'd go with the Nikon one or not. Problem with the 14-24 is the cost of getting a filter on the front of the damn thing. OMG!

I'm thinking a refurb if I get the D800. The D750 would be new. Yeah the D800's have dropped dramatically lately.

Obviously, these are high quality professional photos. Any chance you could share some info for us amateurs? Like to learn how you get the shots. Can you share some settings next time you post those awesome shots?

If you click on my flickr link at the bottom of my posts it will take you to my flickr page. You can click on any of the photos on there and it will give you all the info on how it was shot and with what camera and lens.

I will try to remember to post info when I post a pic though. I know it's always nice to just be able to see it w/o having to go look or ask.

All of these were shot at 30 second exposures with a 18-105 kit lens on a D7000 at ISO 100 on a tripod. I usually use a RF remote for scenes at night but the battery in my receiver was dead so I was limited to what the camera could go to which was 30 seconds max exposure. You can vary the exposure with aperture and ISO. If you don;t have a fast enough lends or don't want the shallow DOF you can bump the ISO up to compensate.

One reason I also wanted to do a longer exposure was that there were about 50-75 people waking through where I took this. The longer exposure would have eliminated more of the people that got caught in these shots. If you look close you can see someone's feet and socks that stopped in the picture. Also and the other end of the walkway you can see the blur of the people that were walking and slowed down.

Thanks for the compliment on the pics.

Definitely get a 24-70 2.8 first full frame lens I got and I'm not even mad.

Yeah that will probably be the one I'll get first. The 14-24 can wait. I believe the 24 will be wide enough on FF for me for now.

I think the D750 is out. The price on D800's is outstanding right now for what you get. Definitely a buyer's market right now.
