2015 tail gate strength

Good afternoon everyone, I'm hoping to be a new Tacoma owner and am definitely new to the forum. I came here because I read somewhere that the tacomas were known to have a weak tailgate. I just want to know if anyone has any info regarding the 2015 models. I'm going to be riding a 500+ lbs bike up a ramp and parking it diagonally in the bed. I also weigh 210 lbs and I'm a bit worried about bending the tailgate. Any information or recommendations would be much appreciated, thank you!

 

voodoo fabrications make a reinforcement plate which goes underneath the liftgate skin

 

Eventually your going to want to get a reinforcement panel/plate.

 

I have a 2015 and ordered a relentless tailgate plate. When I took the plastic cover off, it appeared that one of the glued tailgate supports had already been bent. I didn't take any chances.

I havent had any trouble with mine but the first thing i noticed about my tac was how flimsy the tailgate felt. It is very light to open and close but it just feels cheap snd thin. This is in comparison to my previous nissan frontier which as a whole felt much more beefy and sturdy overall. Everyone swears by the toughness and durability of a tacoma so i dint think the tailgate will be an issue.
