Hey there TW. New to this forum but not forums in general. I'll cut to the chase: I'm thinking about selling my 2014 Audi A5 and picking up a Tacoma as I've recently gotten into motorcycle track days and I'm tired of begging people to haul my bike to the track for me. I love my A5 and hate to sell it, but I have neither the room nor funds for both a car and a truck (at least as long as I'm married). Plus it'll be nice to be able to haul trash to the dump on occasion or pick up full sized pieces of plywood and whatnot.

I've come to TacomaWorld looking for information on these trucks. I briefly considered a Colorado or Frontier, but the reliability/resale value of the Tacoma made this an easy decision. Now my biggest quandary is, do I get a used 2012-2015 4L V6 or wait for the updated 2016 with the 3.5L V6 and 6 speed automatic? I'll be using it as my daily driver, and rarely taking it off pavement, so a manual transmission is a no-go.

Before the A5 I had a 2006 F150 5.4L V8. I liked that truck, but got really sick of spending over $100 every time I'd fill it up, and commuting in the city in that thing was not exactly fun. Parking garages and full sized trucks aren't my idea of a good time.

So how does a Tacoma fair in city use, like parking garages and parallel parking? I know city mileage won't be as good as my 2.0T A5, but it will be a hell of a lot better than the F150, so I'm willing to sacrifice a little mpg's for the added utility. Plus I won't have to fill it with premium anymore so the difference in my monthly fuel bill shouldn't be much different.

Anyway, I look forward to learning more about these trucks before I finally decide to pull the trigger, whether that's in the next month or so, or I might wait until next spring right before the next track season gets set to kick off.
