The switch on the drivers side for all the windows does not work in my truck. The passenger windows all work from their respective switches but the drivers side window switch does not control any of the windows. I have replaced the whole switch unit and it did not work. Any ideas/ other fixes?
    Thanks guys

sounds like your door wiring harness has gone bad

only way to know for sure is pull the door panel off and test the wires for continuity

everything has to be good to the switch or you wouldn't be able to use the passenger side windows, the power goes through the drivers switch panel to feed the passenger side

the ECM only controls the door locks so the problem is isolated inside the drivers door

if the wiring harness was bad then it would affect them all, no?

testing the wiring is a good start, even test the switch to make sure (have a friend with a truck to swap out?)

no, the big white wire with black stripe is the main ground to the power window switch and everything else, the big blue wire with red stripe is the main +12v power wire to the drivers main window control switch as well as each doors switch so if any window works then it has +12v power up to the switch and -12v ground is coming from the main window control switch and feeding the motors for them to work so the issue is going to be the ground to the other doors, maybe in the door harness somewhere but its very very odd for both to go out plus they work by reversing polarity going to them so it couldnt be a shared power wire since the have separate power wires for each door window switch, otherwise the windows couldn't work independently. maybe the common ground used for all the switches through the main switch is the issue?

im still thinking its most common for this problem to be an issue in the switch

OP where did you get the switch you used to replace your other one? was it brand new?

look at this to see the wiring: http://www.customtacos.com/forum/attachment.php?attachmentid=106450&d=1436112099

I took a can of compressed air, a rag and a toothbrush along with a few quick sprays of electrical contact cleaner like the MAF cleaner stuff.

Took the entire assembly out of the door panel upstairs to fully clean it

The big plastic panel comes out easy and the switches unscrew.

I gave it a quick clean and it still isn't working. I will try a more thorough cleaning then go to trouble shooting it with the meter. Anyone have a wiring diagram for the contacts on the switch?
