    How in the world do you get the door panel off!?!? Nor Autzone, Oreily's or Pep Boys and the tool to do it.

    My passenger speaker isn't working so I wanted to take the panel off to test the connections. I have all the screws out. The only thing I can't get off is the handle that rolls the window up and down.

    There is a springy u-clip (more mushroom shaped actually) that holds it on. Kinda tricky to get it off. I've been able to get it off sliding a with a piece of thin rag between the handle flange and panel. Sometimes I push it out with a regular screwdriver, or pull it out with short piece of coat-hangar wire with a little 'hook' on the end.

    used to have - 99 2.4L I4 5 lug & 04 prerunner v6
    yep just slide a rag between the crank handle and the plastic washer and then make a sawing motion with it and it comes right off, just be carefull not to loose it.

    after its off, snap the clip back on the handle, its a snap on fit when you put it together.

    if you do loose it they have em in the "help" section at auto stores

    that tool isn't worth crap, I can give you a dozen of them.

    only by blind luck does that thing work well, most times I just use it to give me room to get a screwdriver in to pop the clip.

    the best tool in the world is a shop rag and it wont scratch or damage the door panel unlike that tool

    Its very easy, i did both today. You need a wedge tool and a philips screwdriver.

    The latch handle pushes forward. The switches cover pops up and forward.

    There are two screws in armrest and a press in river near the mirror.

    Start at the lock edge with a wedge, feel for the rivet, pop it out. Lift the panel up.

    Sweet guys, thanks for all the help!

    Found the tool at Oreily's and I was not going to spend 8 bucks to remove an omega ring. With another set of hands and a flat head we popped it right out. The reason for me doing this was finding out my passenger speaker wasn't working. Found out that when the door was replaced they didn't connect the wires...good as new now! Found out that when putting the door back together that I forgot to put one of the white clips back onto the door panel when popping it in...oh well, it's on there good.

    Search for "3M strip caulk" on Amazon. It comes in a box of 12“ strips. This is what they use at the factory.
