does the steering wheel inside the truck make the screeching noise or are you talking about the power steering pump under the hood makes a screeching sound

if the screeching is inside the truck then you need to lube your speedometer cable, my corolla does that every few years and it kinda sounds like a belt slipping but louder cause its inside the vehicle.
