Strange hard start issue

Hey all, new to this forum. I searched around a bit and haven't been able to come up with any answers to my issue:

I have a strange hard starting problem that seems to only occur when:
1.) hot day
2.) driven a short distance
3.) had the truck shut off for a short amount of time, such as running in to the store or something

I get back in and it wont start. Sometimes I can gas it and get it to start, but it wont idle. If I wait a few minutes or so after I've tried this, it will start just fine.

I dont remember having this problem until just these past couple of years.

Anyone else have this issue?
