For the purchase of a new 2015 Toyota Tacoma 4X2 TRD PreRunner Double cab short Bed.

My 2006 Toyota Tacoma 4X2 TRD PreRunner Double cab short Bed (which I bought new) was hit from behind and totaled last week (severe frame damgage and buckled the bed). My Tacoma replaced a Nissan truck that I bought new in 1990 and the intent was to drive my Tacoma until it left me stranded somewhere (I buy my truck to keep for a long time). I only had 85K miles on the Tacoma and it was in impeccable shape. I loved the truck as it gave me absolutely zero problems in the 9+ years that I owned it.

Now I have the daunting task of shopping around for another one. I want one exactly like the one that was totaled:

    4X2 Double Cab PreRunner
    V6
    White
    Grey interior
With the TRD Off-Road Extra Value Package with Options.

Spec’d out on the Toyota website the MSRP come in at $30,410.

The True Car estimate is $30,365

The KBB Fair Purchase price is $29,835

I hoping to do a little better than that on the price, but it doesn’t look like price of Toyota’s wiggle much. I also HATE buying vehicles and playing games with car salesmen.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

    Please PM me.

    cash talks.

also you could consider a used one with remainder of factory warranty if that concerns you.

Toyota doesn't need to move much on price because they have more buyers than they can make trucks for.

    Yes,
assuming you have full coverage on the totaled taco, use that as down payment for a new taco. the 2016's are almost here, so im thinking the 2015's might start getting some rebates or dealer incentives to make room for the 2016's. also, ask about being a repeat buyer of toyota products, might save you 500-1000? good luck sir!

Thanks for all advice. The wife and I picked up a brand new 2015 Tacoma last week. The insurance company gave us over 20K for the old 2006 TRD. I cannot complain…very few automobiles hold that much value after 9+ years.

My 07 DCSB Prerunner at 84kmiles is worth 20k at this moment, even with one non fault accident that caused 12k+ in repairs and labor.

BUCKLE UP! It makes it harder for Aliens to pull you out of your Truck.
Sucks. Good luck in the search for a replacement.
