Paint finish defect on my 2015 DCLB

Bought my 2015 DCLB few weeks ago. Been raining here a lot as late. Finally had a chance to really clean the truck and spend some quality time and noticed that there are what appears to be "waves" and lack of true gloss in the finish around the bottom of the doors, along the door sill/panel, and on the fender flares.

Am I just a paranoid new owner or is it a defect from factory?

 

No defect. The bottom part of the doors are supposed to be like that - rock chip resistance, I guess.
As for the fender flares, that may be due to it being plastic, but not sure about that one.

 

Looks like the factory orange peel along the rocker panels. Totally normal

 

suppose to be like that on the rockers. Its to protect from rock chips and what not. Go look at almost any truck on the market the paint is like that.

Buddy black fenders look just like yours too dull and not as shiny. It was hard to tell on my MGM. Probably due to being painted on plastic who knows.

 

It's not orange peel, it's rock protection.

 

totally normal all around all trucks are like this

yup paint on plastic looks diff then paint on metal. and the bottom is way more durable than the other parts

 

It's standard from the factory on both parts. The fenders flares are "hazy" looking because the paint is probably cheaper and/or is resistant to rock chips. If it bothers you so bad like it did me, just get them repainted.
