    What's up guys,

I lifted my taco 3" a few months ago and have been saving up for new tires and wheels. I wanna roll with the TRD trail team black wheel and 33" nitto trail grapplers but 1600 is a lot of dough!!!

Is the money worth it? I'm 95% on road and 5% off but when I do go off it's in the red Oklahoma mud! I'm currently running with the stock off road package.

    Thanks!

First 2 mods need to be better suspension and tires, 1 down....
Tires are hard, so many not one do it all. How much mud do you need to get through? Axle deep you need a mud tire if less a good AT tire will work... The real problem is looks, the cool looking tires are more off road the great AT tires just ok.... Do you get snow there if not you only need to worry about on road, wet and off road... I live in WI so we have to deal with snow but they plow really quick so I really need a good wet tire that can go off road. So I got the Cooper AT3. Great all weather do it all tire.... But now I think I'm going to get a more aggressive tire for summer and keep these for fall and winter.... 1 step down from the trails would be a cooper st maxx but better on the road great for rocks, 2 steps down are the AT3 but just look ok but one the best rain tires made...... dura tracs are best snow AT and not as good for rocks and there are many more tires these are the ones I know about...

If you have the money, go for it man! I would go for the duratracs myself, they look awesome. I just got them on my rig and they ride nicely, haven't taken them out in the wild yet though! Would like to see your current setup...

Goodyear MTR w/kevlars have my vote for tires. Way lighter, more aggressive, quieter, better on and off road, just a better all around tire. Last set had 25k+ and had another 10k left in them. And believe me, I abused the shit out of them

One can never have too many light bars.
Sounds like you need to take your truck to an empty parking lot for some "aggressive testing" . That way you will "Need" new tires.

S & J nice AC , one-thing about wheels and rubber it will make a major difference, once the pain is over I think you'll be very happy. I know when I paid a 4K vet bill I wasn't thrilled but after I got over the shock, I wouldn't of had it any other way. Hell it's only money :).

    Here's my '09 with a 3" lift 285 70 17 Nitto Grapplers w Fuel Trophys

Another thing I'd say is, since you're 90% on road go with a Prated tire, don't bother going with a heavier load like a C or D. There's no need for it. With P rated, your ride will be cushier and better on MPGs, compared to heavier load tires... General Grabber AT2s P rated are a good option.

Can you get better pics of your wheels? Are those TRD caps on the Fuel wheels in place of the center caps? Looks good from far but curious on how you made them fit.

    Thanks.

Here 'ya go, it was a pain ..... I can't remember where I got those hub inserts (sorry) they are a some generic brand. I just measured the I.D. of the wheel cap space, then the O.D. of the TRD center cap. The insert was a perfect fit for the wheel then I fit the center cap from the rear and glued in place..... Then just pop them in the wheels :) Sorry for my lack of help (or memory :)) . It's a clean look.

Newb question: How are you 100% sure the wheels/tires you're about to buy will fit? If I get the set up listed above, are they gonna fit or do I need more backspace?

Thanks to member PPansini10, finally bought a new setup and got it installed. Had to take the front mud flaps off (oh well) and maybe grind just a bit of it down to be safe but overall the truck just looks happier doesn't it
