So I have my hitch off, waiting for my new truck to show up, decided to clean it up a little bit and was using some of my cleaner to wipe it down and noticed some areas where the black paint is coming off and there's a little bit of surface rust underneath. Here's some pictures of the areas I am talking about, what would you guys do to clean this up so I can bolt this back on my new truck that's coming in a couple weeks?

The hitch is 3 years old.
Does it look ok? I mean they are fairly cheap online. If the general consensus is replacement I can do that.

    Thanks TW,
    Stay safe out there!

Looks ok too me but if you want use a wire wheel and add some welds maybe?

I had the same issue with my U-Haul hitch when I took it off of my 2007 Ranger and installed it on my 2010 so I cleaned the whole thing up took it down the local trade school had the kids do some welds on it primed it and then had it power coated ....

2 in spacer lift front 2, in AAL rear [tundra leaf] , flip up tow mirrors, ARE shell electric brake controller and cooper ATP 265/r70x16 tires on stock TRD wheels
Wire brush , paint good to go after install on new truck shoot it with rattle can paint when you notice it starting to rust. If your in a rust prone area and plan to keep new truck for a while I would consider coating the frame with a rust preventing product.
