Lots of bolt on chrome stuff
Hey all! I really need a hand with this. Today I went to install some new headlight bulbs and they looked like the lows were pointed to the wrong side. I dug the stock halogens out of the garage to compare and they do the same thing. The low beams use only the top half of the reflector cone as shown in this picture.

After messing around with this and being confused for awhile I think I might have been having a dumb moment. Can someone confirm that the headlights on the 5-15's are supposed to be this way? I'm now thinking that the low beams use the top half of the reflector so that the light is reflected back down off of them.. is that right? Then the high beams use the entire reflector cone?

That would sound right to me, but if nobody has answered you by the time I get home I can have a look at mine. I've got my original pair somewhere around the house.

I'd appreciate it! If it's cloudy enough to get dark tonight I'll give them a field test as well, but it's still pretty light out here at night. Northern problems.

Field test confirms that the headlights are supposed to be like that. Drove a few hundred km south last night to find some darkness!
I didn't remove mine this time. You can get the stock bulbs in and out no problem. My led bulbs with the big heat sink were a little tougher - last time I took the top bolt out of the wiper fluid bottle so I could push it back just a bit. This time I just squeezed my hands in there.
