Ok here are my questions what size amp should i get to power my jl audio 13tw5 i was looking at the JL audio mono 500v1 or the JL 1000/1... My second question which head unit should i get the pioneer AVIC-Z110BT navi which has a 7 band eq and a lot of bells and whistles or the pioneer AVH-P4100DVD which has a 3 band eq and is more simple and what i was really looking to purchase? i do have upgraded coaxial pioneer 6x9s in the front and 6 1/2s in the rear doors someone help thanks!!

the 500/1 looks good on that sub. i know mr marv used that same combo in the tutorial and i spoke with him about it and he said it sounded great. i dont think a 1000/1 would fit if you wanted to use another amp on your mids and hi's.

well i was just going to let my door speakers run off of the head unit. My friend said that the sub can handle more then 500 and i should get the 1000 and turn it down a little. i still haven't decided what head unit to buy either!

i was looking at the pioneer but have pretty much switched to a kenwood dnx9140.
very close specs but the kenwood has dual usb ports, a remote, and parrot bluetooth (which i understand is the best there is)

I'm not an audio expert by any stretch, but looking at the power chart on the JL website, you will see that you don't want to go bigger then a 500 watt amp.

    http://mobile.jlaudio.com/products_subs_pages.php?page_id=35

The chart is kinda hard to read, but you can see where the 13TW5 sits and the power you should and should NOT put into it.

Just my 2 cents, but I wouldn't power it with a 1000/1 amp.

Edit: Looking at the chart the "optimal" range for that sub is ~400 watts.

A lift, some wheels, some tires, some performance, some cosmetic and then audio.
If you have the money and nice mids & highs...I suggest the JL Audio HD900/5. 500w to your 13TW5 and 100w each to the mids/highs. I plan on swapping my 12W7, 1000/1 & 300/4 for a 13TW5 & HD900/5 sometime soon.
