That is leaked pricing. Until Toyota confirms it then it is just speculation. And people forget that you can negotiate pricing Down.

From a dealer allocation sheet on official Toyota letterhead, that was taken down by the poster later, pretty sure its the pricing we will see. Yes you can negotiate, but dosent mean you'll get it. New truck that already is in demand, basic economics here. Toyotas already aren't drastically less than MSRP, how they keep high resale.

Assuming the leaked pricing is close to accurate, what do you guys think that will do to resale value of newer (2014/2015) 2nd gen trucks? Obviously there are tons of variables still up in the air until Toyota publishes some official numbers, but I'm just curious to hear some speculation.

Tacos already have an insane resale value where I live, and I think the fairly substantial price bump on DCSB TRD Sports might help me out considerably. I ended up getting a great deal on a 3-year lease for my '14, after which Toyota will sell it to me for $21k. I'm pretty confident I can easily turn around and sell it for $26-27k based on what I've seen other similar used trucks go for around me, but now I'm (perhaps naively) optimistic that it could grow even higher based on the leaked prices for a 2016 with similar options (almost $35k).

I think it's going to be pretty hugely dependent on the final specs of the new V6. If gas mileage and torque are significantly improved from the 2nd gen V6, I think that will obviously hurt resale values for 2nd gen trucks. But if the improvements are somewhere between "meh" and mediocre, I think that might actually increase resale value for 2nd gen trucks.

    Thoughts?

Why wouldn't it be accurate. It's from Toyota. Here is the link. It will have little to no effect. 1st to 2nd gen was negligible, same. The 2nd gen is a proven platform and will remain in demand for those wanting the older version (like guys who rather want 1st gens) or people who cant get into a new one.

Never said it wasn't accurate. But the original source of the info was a TW post from a (presumed) Toyota employee that was pretty quickly removed, along with most of his/her other recent posts. Until an official announcement from Toyota, I think you'd be foolish to take any leaked information as outright fact.

Official pricing sheet from Toyota to dealers, pretty sure that will end up being fact. Hence the poster probably getting scolded for posting it. Either way would say its more than safe to assume that's the price.
