Had some unfortunate business on the road, smoke started to come out of my hood and it smelled rather nasty. Turned out my oil filter wasn't on tight enough and had sprayed hot oil all over my engine bay. I pulled over onto the side of the road and did an oil change right then and there, luckily I had all the required materials in my tool box. So after draining old oil and changing filters, I put 5.5 quarts of oil in the beast. I drove off to find a power wash station and it seemed as though my transmission started slipping. It wouldn't go into gear, and it would rev high and then engage and jolt forward. This didn't happen at higher speeds. I got the truck cleaned off a bit, and took it to jiffy lube this morning. They topped off the transmission fluid, and the slipping seems to have gone away. The truck feels as though it's lost some power though, and its not as peppy. The check engine light came on last night, and I had it scanned today. Code came back as P2714, something about a pressure control solenoid. Any advice on how big of a repair this is? Is this a common issue? What could have caused it? Help is appreciated, remember i am just an idiot.

Did you ever get an answer on this or can you share with me what the issue was. I had the same issue with my oil exploding all over the place and now my transmission slips with the P2714 error code. Thanks
