Just wanted to let everyone know that not all frame swaps are distasterous, and people researching this topic might want to read about a positive experience.

5 months after the inspection/decision a new frame was needed, all the parts came in. I brought my truck into Rudy Luther Toyota in Golden Valley MN. Took 3 days to do the swap, and i had a loaner for free.

I got a call that i needed a new CV boot cuz mine was torn, and i had them fix that. No other calls or "needed" parts to try to get money out of me.

When i got my truck back, it def wasnt perfect but they guys there took care of me. I got it home and my brake fluid and power steering fluid resiviors were overfilled, and i had oil on my lower part of my engine (turns out it was just spillage, not a leak). I also had some small knicks in the rear window seal and rear bumper. I also had to re-wire my bed lights, though the tech tried to make them work again (something weird at the butt connectors). I brought it back in, they addressed all my concerns and the manager went for a ride with me to confirm things felt as they should.

i havent put many miles on yet but i am confident my truck is good to go after the swap! No leaks, no rattles and everything is straight. Hopefully someone reads this and feels better about their upcoming swap...

Good to hear I took mine in for an inspection and the ding dongs didn't even look at it. I know my frame is good since I took it upon myself to bust all the rust and clean it up. They offered to spray it and I denied it since they did a shit job on my 04. They just spray that junk wherever and its a mess. Id rather touch up paint than deal with that again.
