Another new member california

just picked up a 2007 Tacoma access cab, 14k miles. Auto 4 cylinder with a vision camper shell. Got a good deal on it so was not picky about the drivetrain. Changed the oil and air filter and cleaned it up, drives nice. I have a 2000 5.4 f150 and this feels so much lighter, less power as well but much better mileage. Anyhow noticed climbing hills I need to wind it out a bit (downshifting on inclines), thinking of taking camper shell off as it never rains out here. The previous owner also had a board cut out for the base of the back of the truck that was around 100 lbs (removed this as it has a liner). Not sure if this would make a difference, think the cab is few hundred pounds.
