    Hi TW Members,
I'm looking for ideas on mounting ancillary brake/tail lights on the bed rack that supports our tent, due to our bikes obscuring the tail/brake lights and the tent blocking the third brake light on the cab. Attached are a few pics to show you what we are dealing with and maybe to help with ideas of where we could mount ancillary lights, maybe using the bed rack. The wiring idea I've been given by our local RV store was to run the lights off the factory trailer harness using a 5th wheel T-connector, so that we retain the 7-pin plug at the bumper.

Any suggestions on both LED lighting units and wiring would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Jason

how often do you carry the tent and bikes? are you looking for a permant mount solution or a temp/quick removal type?

The solution would be for summer use, relatively frequent use as we leave the tent on during the summer and use the truck to carry the bike 2-3 time a week. We've seen people use the magnetic tow lights, however our bike rack is aluminum and I was hoping to do something that is relatively clean and doesn't involve a major operation every time we get into the back of the truck. We've been given the idea of incorporating turn signals/indicators into the ancillary lighting and while this sound appealing I think our main objective is to have better brake and tail light visibility as we were previously rear-ended in our last Taco.

Appreciate any ideas and your time.

    Jason
