Nice shot, American Basin is beautiful. My friend and his wife have a cabin just off Cinnamon Pass near Castle Lakes, we're lucky enough to head down there a couple times a year. Once usually around New Years for snowmobiling and the other in the Summer/ Early Fall for fishing and general drunkeness. They got married in that basin last September, look for a small arbor made of Aspens, we left it there after the cermony

Have a great trip, I'll be up there on the bike later in the summer.

Just please don't park on the tundra like you did in your OP pic :anonymous:

I'd add American Basin to your day on the 27th, pretty short detour off Cinnamon but worth it for sure.

New to the forum, but looking for something to do over 4th of July weekend. I live in Arizona but may be willing to make the trip up to Colorado. Can you give me anymore information on your trip? I would be only be able to do a July 2-5 trip. Can you tell me more about this fishing too?

    Thanks,

    Billy

I would imagine everything is open now. We usually go this time of year and have never had any trouble with a trail not being open.

Nice write up and great pics! I have never been to that area, but we are going on a run from Denver (to Cruiser Fest in Utah) in early Sept. Red Cone Pass / Radical Hill / Georgia Pass to Breckenridge area then south to Mosquito Pass to Leadville then up Hagerman Pass....Roaring Forks Valley to Marble the Schofield Pass to Crested Butte then on to Rabbit valley and the desert. Plan to do some exploring on the way to Denver and Play a bit after Cruiser Fest so will be about a 2 week trip. Can't wait to see the country, and your pics give an amazing view of what is in store....thanks for the post!

You will already be on the Breck side of Georgia btw, take middle fork swan once up radical, or st johns if radical isn't open yet. Radical and schofield may not be open depending on when you are planning to go, check bushducks.

We are going with a guy from Denver who plans out a route for the week before Cruiser fest so we pretty much will show up and tag along with the group. He does have a few options listed and the listed route is a "Proposed Route" depending on conditions. I'll be happy seeing any of it as I have never been there. We will be taking my buddies 80 Series Wagon on the trip. I'll have to get Marty to take some pics as I end up doing the majority of the driving. Looks like a beautiful area regardless of the route!

Post up pics after your trip, we are looking for new areas to go wheeling at for our 4th July yearly getaway!
