and throw aftermarket/bigger tires on it?

Tell me about it and pics if you don't mind...im new to lift kits and bigger tires, so I will be inquiring as I decide to build my truck. I would like to add black steel rims, possibly 15's or 16's by 8's with some pretty aggressive yet streetable and preferably quiet tires and maybe a 3 inch lift. Any drawbacks, backspacing, etc?

Or are 18 inch wheels and up the way to go?

any helpful opinions are appreciated TW, thanks!

If it's a mall crawler; you'll probably want a 6" lift with at least 20 inch rims!

    mods can move, sorry lol

definitely not a mall crawler but will take it on camping trips to the lake and towing jet skis.

I can't understand why anyone would get 4x2, and then immediately spend extra money for a lift and bigger tires?

Why not put the money for the lift and tires into buying a 4x4. A non lifted 4x4 with stock tires will go way more places than a 4x2 with lift and big tires.

My reason is I do not off road and no need for 4wd in the city I live in and I wanted a lifted truck.

ive read up, and ive decided that my Tacoma will be deemed a mall crawler...that's pretty much it lol ive figured it out after I decided how I wanted my truck to look like coupled with how I will be driving it and where I will be drivnng it 95% of the time..in the big city.

Take advantage of being 2WD and get MaxTrax 4" lift spindles. They offer the nice stock ride without needing new UCAs or big beefy springs.

lifted 2", snug top, tube steps
If you will never go off road just go with blocks in the back and a spacer in the front.
    I have a 15 DC LB 2WD (TRD Sport)
I did a 2 1/2" spacer in the front and a add a leaf and a 1" block in the rear.
Overall lifted about 2 1/2" or so.
I've taken a lot of heat on this board for this lift but I am a freeway flyer, I NEVER off road. I just like to blind the sport cars that cut me off. :) It works well for me.
    These fit perfect: (for me)
MB Chaos 17X8.5 BFG Rugged Terrain T/A P285/70R17

I bought everything on Ebay for about 200-300 bucks. Can't beat it (IMHO)
