    Hello all,

I'm a US Gov Civil Servant who lived in Japan the last 9 years or so. Just moved back to the US a couple months ago and finally got around to getting a mid sized pick up. When I left the US 10 years ago there were multitudes of mid sized trucks, not so anymore.

Anyway I settled on a 2015 Tacoma Access Cab with Convenience Package. Shopped it hard for a week or two. Short term goals are to do nothing to it and longer term goals are to put some more attractive wheels and tires on it but not sure where to start looking.

Real happy with my purchase and real happy to read up on mods that others are doing here.

Nice purchase. You can't beat these vehicles, they're bullet proof. Was the Hillux a popular vehicle in Japan?

Actually I spend almost 16 of the last 18 years of my life in Japan and pick up trucks are just not very popular there at all. In fact I seldom saw one. But I lived in the country around MCAS Iwakuni. They had these very very small trucks with tiny beds but they weren't Toyotas. More likely to see a Hilux in a western country in my experience. That always perplexed me that Nissan and Toyota sold so many pick ups but you never saw any right hand drive ones in Japan.
