I'm currently running nerd bars and I wanted to get sliders, do nerf bars provide as much protection as sliders?
    Thanks and excuse my ignorance

    nothing cool
Not even close. Nerf bars are held on my 5 or 6 screws into the body. Sliders are heavy duty steel bars that are welded to the frame (or bolted to the frame).

I would say no. Nerf bars usually drop down and away to serve as a step. Sliders are designed to tuck up close to the body and not decrease ground clearance and, depending on the style, can stick out pretty far, as they're designed to push your truck away from obstacles. Sliders would definitely protect against everyday abuse, as well as trail abuse.

I'm selling a set of nfabs (DCSB) if you're interested. Practically brand new, I've only had them on the truck for a month. I want to get sliders. I live in Oakland, CA. Selling them for $320. They are the textured versions.
