I moded 1999 Taco so much it had turned to Land Cruiser
You blaming me for Toyota installign car engine in their truck ?
They could have installed Dual VVTi 4.0 like in Hilux... or atleast made an option..
Its not only engine. I, not like you, did went to NY auto show to see new Tacoma. IMHO that truck is even more ugly in person than on the pictures.
Now you may say thats my opinion but at NY auto show just like at others (mentioned by other members) that truck was locked with nobody even looking at. Clearly its not scoring any points against competition. Have you seen 2gen on previous Auto Shows ? that thing got more people interested in it than new Tacoma. So what your point ?

The very notion of truck engines and car engines is silly and typically GM. Ford and Dodge engineers design and build motors that can fit multiple purposes very well. Several of which have made the top ten engines list.

As for adding additional engine options you know the Tacoma doesn't have the volume for that. Again old news.

I will likely be in Calgary on August the 1st to GET INTO a 2016 Tacoma if the tour date turns out to be true. You were able to look at the Tacoma from 5 feet away. Canadians are able to touch the truck, scope around in the bay, etc. Don't try to act like a 2016 expert because you saw the prototype with the hood down from several feet away . The Tacoma tour up here in Canada seems to be attracting plenty of people. Just check out the facebook page, lots of people mulling around just to see the new truck.

As for scoring points against the competition, doesn't something have to start selling before you judge that? Toyota will still sell the most midsized trucks next year unless something goes terribly wrong on the new truck.

Wait wasn't this about the cab on the new truck having the same shape? Oh yeah, you've decided to go trolling with a huge rant with the words MINIVAN, SOCCERMOM, and other generic terms that mean nothing to this new truck at all. I'm good, I think I've indulged your fetish for paid trolling enough today.
