Anyone have any reasonably secure (not that I will leave the firearms in the vehicle) AR15 Carbine or SBR mounts in their Tacomas?

You can fold the bottom half of your rear double cab seat up and stuff any gun you want in there.

Looking for something a bit more accessible. Looking at big sky mounts, and thinking they might be the ticket. Would like to replace my center consol with something else and have a carbine and shotgun secured where the rear cup holders are now....might have to get creative!

I have a big sky mount for my AR. I removed the rear o shit handles and used the existing hardware to install the rack. So far I love it. There is a lip on the tacoma roof that hides the gun from view from virtually all directions unless you squat down and look up from below. No real ability to secure the gun however. This is my only gripe.

I'm not sure who you were referring to, but if you were looking ato my truck, it's a big Sky single rifle rack from Amazon.

I have however stopped rolling with my rifle on the roof. I felt a little weird going to a movie for example knowing that meth heads would have 2 hours to work on exricating the rifle. I have since moved onto a behind the back seat option with a chain lock. I will post pictures tomorrow

sorry sorry!! Just got the truck back after an extended stay at the shop.

I switched up my mounting system. I went from a big sky gun rack that was mounted to the holes left by the rear o shit handles to a molle hybrid board by gray man tactical. I have the rifle (billet lower) secured with a padlock and heavy duty chain. I also felt a little nervous leaving it accessible and able to fire so I picked up a mag lock that fits in the magazine and locks the upper and lower together while preventing any magazine from being inserted. This along with my remote security system gives me relative peace of mind.

    Old Mounting solution
