Post your gun metal 'Plasti-dipped' emblems/badges

Thinking about plasti dipping my badges in gun metal, instead of black. I've been browsing a bunch of builds and picture threads and don't think I've come across any, so post 'em up and let's see 'em.

Any experiences with this Performix stuff from big box?

 

It's not gun metal at all. It's just cement gray, pretty misleading.

This exact color from this brand. I purchased some and was highly disappointed, atleast I got my money back.

Maybe get the metalizer?

 

I did 4 coats of black and 3 graphite metalizer on me wheels

 

I have to say I like those rims.

That looks great. Exactly the color I am after to match TOYOTA writing on my TRD Pro grill

 

I got the graphite metalizer through dip your car dot com. Not silver. May be same type of spray but mine was graphite

 

I think that's the color I need. Like I said I want to dip my emblems in some sort of gun metal/graphite color to match the pro grill lettering

 

The metalizer is a top coat very similar consistency of the glossifier. Need some coats of black then a few coats of metalizer

 

Before my PRO grill I did my stock grill emblem with Anthracite Plasti-Dip. It matched my MGM perfectly. I tried the glossifier and honestly, it was garbage. The finish was gummy to the touch and just looked bad.

 

What kind of prep was required to do this? The silver coating is chipping all over the place on my rims..

 

Mine were in good shape. I cleaned real good then 50/50 alcohol water wipe. You orobably want te get off all the loose chipping stuff. The pd will fill and smooth a bit but probably wont smooth out all the areas.

 

Where did you end up picking up the Anthracite Plasti-Dip. I know Amazon has it, buts its pricey due to the shipping. It looks like it matches pretty well, I couldnt tell from the pick above that it was dipped at all.

 

I ordered it from Dip Your Car. It has a metallic effect in it too. I'll look at the emblem again when I get home. I don't think I have any up close shots from when I did it.
