    I would like to know about the product before commiting to buy. What is it made of? If steel, what gauge? and what is the cost.

    I found it at auto-safes.com, fits second gen Tacoma (2005-2014) for $269 with free shipping. Is this the same unit?.

    When I am in the truck my gun is well within reach at a moments need....

    A local gun range had a class on confined space defense and if you need to open or reach more than 12 inches for your gun when most likely doing it without looking since your eyes are on the threat your toast in your defense with an encounter.....

    Bummed to have missed out on this as I just purchased and installed a Console Vault in late June.

    For those who are unfamiliar with the product, be aware you lose a fair amount of usable space in your console by installing this. The CV fits well but doesn't make full use of the space. Still more than enough room for my needs, though. Managed to squeeze a small rechargeable LED into the console as well.

    I put one of these in my truck (2014 DCSB) last year. Never regretted doing it. I got the 3 number combination as I did not want any more keys to keep up with. Yes you could break into it, but it takes time and effort to do so. I can get my back up CCW in a holster, phone and a few other things in it.
