Hey guys, branching out from my NorCal section to ask y'all if you have any must-see areas. I'll be taking an 18 day trip up the California coast, then cutting across into eastern Oregon where I'll be taking forestry roads (aka OBCDR) all the way through Oregon (roughly Lakeview to La Grande). From there I'll be heading up to the San Juan Islands where we'll be spending 3 days camping on the islands themselves. Anything along the way that's notable I don't mind at all detouring to see! We'll be taking my stock 2015 DCSB TRD OR, and while I have plenty of background in offroading, I'd rather not thrash my DD. Light trails and good views are appreciated, not looking for anything technical. Any suggestions?

Lily lake and Cave lake are cool places to visit. If your looking for a first night camping this might be a good spot to stop. It's off 395 about 6 miles or so? Search Lily lake Modoc county. Another cool drive is going into Lakeview go up behind the swimming pool "Boulder canyon" it comes out on Hwy 140. Just guessing it's about a 20 mile run before you come to pavement again (hwy 140). At the top it forks off 5 different directions. You could spend all day up there. Gods country. If your any type of rock hound there is a Opal mine out side Lakeview too. Have fun on your trip.

If you want to go to a cool town look up Leavenworth washington. Bavarian town with amazing food and a bunch of shops. Also really good scenery. Little bit of a detour but it's worth looking up on the interweb

Sounds like something my SO would love, might need to detour to check it out!

If I recall correctly, I believe the entrance that I'm taking on the OBCDR references a swimming pool, I think the trails may be one in the same. Thanks!
