Noticed last week that my dome light (and glove box light) isn't working. Even when I switch it back and forth to ON and DOORS with the truck running and testing with the lights ON and OFF.

When checking the bulb with a power meter whatchamacallit and the bulb is working, but when using the meter on the dome connectors where the bulb attaches there isn't any power. I checked the dome fuse and it's fine. The lights attached to my mirror work like they're supposed to as well.

Any ideas? Are the two lights separate fuses or is the problem between the mirror lights and the dome light?

I unplugged the dome case and tested that wire and it has power. I tested the bulb and it has power (but when I tested it with the battery there was no light). When testing it to the ON and DOOR switch there is power between the two connectors where the bulb goes (after cleaning something off) but nothing happens when I put the bulb in. This is bizarre...

Yeah thats really weird. If my years in the Navy have taught me anything, its if something doesn't make sense just start replacing parts. Hah. Have you tried another bulb?

I had the exact same problem. Never could figure it out. One day it just started working again and has been working since. I always thought it was a loose connection/wire some where because sometimes when I would tap it it would blink.

Well I tested it with another bulb that a co-worker has in his car and it lights up in the DOOR position but not the ON position...so I do need a new bulb but I don't understand why it doesn't work when switched to the ON position when my tester shows that there is a current running through it.
