This is the strangest thing I have ever seen. I did my install of 5100s all the way around with aals in the back and 884s up front. Yes, I made some mistakes along the way....but corrected all of them. The porcess took me two and a half days. Yes, I am a newb at Tacoma suspension, but I was able to get everything done to spec....as far as I know.

The front end still needs to be aligned, and my alignment guy told me I needed to fix someting before he could align it. I have now fixed that and need to take the truck back to him.

I have a 2012 ACLB V6 and six speed manual trans. The TCS light is now always on. I diconnected the batter overnight in an attempt to clear out any fault code. My fully paid full version of Torque (which I used to really like) shows there are no fault codes. I have checked forums and verified the brake lights work, gas cap is fully tight....I can not figure out why this light is coming on.

Being quite desperate to fix this (this truck is my wifes daily driver and I want her to be safe.....my ex-wife would be another story) I am hoping someone here could point me in the right direction. I hate taking ANY car to the stealership, but fear that I might have to.

    Please help!

Exactly which lights are on? VSC OFF? ABS? The check engine light? One of 3 possibilities:

You might have knocked loose or damaged a wheel speed sensor in the install "porcess".

The steering wheel is off-center. Make sure this is corrected when you do the alignment.

Sometimes the stability control system needs a recalibration after lift install, because the g-sensors are effectively 3" higher now on the vehicle.

    I like your signature photo.

Anyway, it is the traction control light....squigly lines behind that car...no check engine or anything else, just that one.

I will need to find the speed sensor on the front wheels, but wouldn't that throw a check engine light if that happened? My buddy has another OBD II reader that I might try. And is the sstability control system something I can calibrate on my own?

Thank you very much for your pompt response.

Just a thought. ..I had to loosen the lower a-arm to swing it down to put the 884s in. Could torque on those lower bolts have anything to do with it?

No, but you might have yanked and damaged the sensor wire when you swung the A-arm out. Torque on those bolts wouldn't make that light come on.

Holy CRAP! Thank you for that link. I downloaded the PDF he had there and noticed Page 6. My alignment guy told me I had it wrong, when I had to right! AAARRRGGGHHHHH, need to pull the front end apart AGAIN!!!! Well, I had to down to 90 minutes for both front wheels yesterday, so it should go faster today.

I look forward to posting in the suspension thread as I took measurements of before and after with the combination that I purchased. I will post when I get this whole mess straight, and will let you know if the fix worked.

    Thanks for all your input.

Ok, front end put back together CORRECTLY this time. Disconnected the batter while doing the work and the light is still on. We are getting raped right now for a front end alignment, and will bross our fingers.
We do not have access to a OND II reset tool, so it might be off to Toyota tomorrow for them to reset the sensor.

I have a similar problem but my light doesn't stay on, instead the VSC activates and dangerously brakes the wheel randomly in some turns. It seems to do only on right turns and can be on some sharp turns or mellow turns, random.

    Does yours actually drive OK?

The truck drives fine. I will throw her around on my way to work this morning and see what happens.

My wife reached out to a friend of hers who is a Toyota tech (wish she would have mentioned him a while back) to see if he can reset the litch and yaw sensors. All our research indicates those need to be reset to zero with a OBD II tool so we will see what happens. I hope to have a result this weekend and will let you all know.

RESULTS: Seems the OBD II reader from Toyota is the ONLY reader that can read this code. It was the position sensor on the steering column that was slightly off andhad to be reset.
