It's time to replace my lower ball joints again and I can't remember or find where the two longer bolts go. Can anyone help?

If I remember correctly, the longer bolts go OUT towards the wheels. Shorter bolts go IN towards the LCA (tops are exposed).

Of the dozen or so sets of OEM LBJ's I have bought all but 2 came with all 4 bolts the same length. 2 of the joints had 2 short bolts that were actually too short and a different style, see pic. In any case the longer ones should go on the outboard side. Just make sure the shorter bolts will show at least a thread or 2 out the top of the hole. There are minimal threads on the inboard spindle holes as it is.

Like this, or at least close.

Short oddball bolt on right. Nice thick flange and all but too short.

Mine were all the same length too, it's a piss poor design any how.... just use some Loctite & don't torque down too tight, they strip easy

    Check out my build
Especially with the aftermarket shorter bolts where the longer ones go (closest to the wheel)
